In early 2012 my new line of luxurious at-home spa items will become available. Violette Bath & Body is inspired by vintage French labels, herbal tinctures, essential oils, and violets, one of my favorite wildflowers, and favorite colors! It is also inspired by the story of my great grandmother, Marcella, who was born in France and sold cut flowers for a livng as a little girl. These lip balms, bath salts, soaps, floral waters, and perfumes will feature real botanicals and lots of beautiful floral scents.
To make room for Violette, all of the items in the www.naturesbotanicals.etsy.com shop are ON SALE through the end of the year! And don't worry, I will be keeping a few of the customer favorites, such as the rosemary mint lip balm.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS from Nature Inspires!

I've found some great ideas for lighting your outdoor wedding reception. For that glowing, ethereal look in a garden or woodland setting, these little lights would be perfect! They could be used in so many ways, in so many different settings. All of these are made by lovely Etsy artisans. Click on them to be directed to their Etsy shops. Happy lighting!

I've been obsessed with shoes lately.  Maybe its the fact that certain ones can make you feel powerful, or just the right kind of pretty. Or maybe its the Cinderella story burried in my subconcious. Shoes, heels specifically have become much more fun in terms of weddings over the last few years. They no longer need to match your dress (though there is nothing wrong with matching either). It can be fun add a splash of your favorite color with a pair of heels or pumps, perhaps a color also found in your bouquet. Don't stop with color though! The possibilities with texture are endless when it comes to shoes.
These gorgeous purple heels, with vintage-style floral accents, by Irregular Choice are a favorite of mine. They would look lovely peeping out from beneath an ivory gown. Or a purple gown!

    About Me

I started making hair crowns after I was married in August, 2011 when I made one for my own wedding. I fell in love with the materials and the process. I design, make, model, photograph and ship each item that leaves my home studio.

I started my first Etsy shop, Nature Inspires (jewelry), in 2010 and then opened the Woodland Bridal shop in September, 2011. Until recently, these were both part-time endeavors, but I am now attempting to be a full-time flower crown & jewelry artist. I also run Sweet Violet Bride - a nature inspired wedding blog.

    Fun Facts:

I grew up in a family of visual artists, and being creative is as necessary as breathing to me.
I spent my college days hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and then
spent a few years as a glacier guide, naturalist and trail guide in Juneau, Alaska, where my love of nature flourished. I also have an MFA in Creative Writing and currently live in Vermont with my husband and two cats, Luke and Leia.
